All posted prices on menus, shelves, labels, or product webpages reflect the “Cash Price.” The price of each item at checkout is increased by 3.99%. If a customer chooses to pay with cash, a discount is applied to reduce the total. BackPAY provides pre-programmed software and compliant signage to notify consumers.

The “Service Charge,” “Convenience Fee,” or “Processing Fee” will be charged as a separate line item at the bottom of every customer receipt, excluding Debit and Cash transactions. Unlike many of our competitors, BackPAY will ensure your merchant account is registered with card brands to help you avoid serious fines!

Note: The merchant will receive a nominal processing bill at the end of each month for any debit transactions processed.

Dual pricing makes cash discounting easy.

Help merchants stay compliant and differentiate yourself from your competition, who’s selling surcharge programs marketed as cash discount, by leveraging our new dual pricing program.

The total cost to a merchant is a combination of card-type fees (Interchange) and those amounts collected by the processing/acquiring bank. Quarterly Interchange fees associated with each card type are determined by card brands and listed publicly. The “Plus” part of “Interchange Plus Processing” refers to amounts collected on behalf of the processor…typically comprised of a “Discount Rate” (fee applied as a percentage of total monthly processing volume) and “Transactional Rate” (flat dollar amount assessed with each card dip or charge), in addition to “Back-of-House Fees”; like the Statement Fee, Batch Fee, Dues & Assessments, etc.

At BackPAY, our wholesale banking relationships allow us to achieve the lowest processing rates available. If passing a fee to your consumers is something you are not ready for just yet, let’s still try to save some of your hard-earned revenue!

Although currently the most common way to process cards, business owners have become increasingly frustrated with cryptic statements and seemingly frivolous fees. The Durbin Amendment of 2011 helped put controls in place to prohibit gauging merchants, especially with respect to debit transactions.
